Greetings Friends of Science, Reason, and Critical Thinking,

It certainly has been a weird week in news. Including science news. I want to highlight one science topic that has been mostly missed in the news. Most people heard about the Nobel Peace Prize… Sadly it overshadowed nine other people who received it for their work in science and one who received in in literature. (Side note: the Peace Prize winner actually praised someone who wanted it but didn’t get it.) The media works in funny ways sometimes.

As always there are an amazing number of opportunities to engage with and learn about Science here in the Bay Area. With that in mind I’d like to highlight a few that I think look particularly worthy of your consideration…

Now… For something completely different… There are so many resources out there I decided to share some of the on-line sources I use to learn cool new things. I encourage you to look at the article I’m linking to but please explore the website and subscribe to their mail list if you are so inclined. This is just a sample of what I get daily, weekly, or monthly!

“Oh America, how often have you taken necessities from the masses to give luxuries to the classes…God never intended for one group of people to live in superfluous inordinate wealth, while others live in abject deadening poverty,” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
